Spark UI changes: Where's my stuff?

With the launch of Spark, Productboard's navigation has been redesigned. Your content is untouched. Everything is still there, but the path to reach it may have changed.

The new navigation system has five top-level items in the Main menu: Home, Agent, Library, Portal, and Settings, plus the Workspace menu at the very bottom.

What moved and where to find it

If you're looking for… Go to
Insights boards Library > Insights
Products board Library > Products
Customers boards Library > Companies or Users
Reports Settings > Reports
Data, Fields, and Formulas Settings > Data Management
Docs Library > Boards
The All Company or General teamspace Organization (in the Home submenu)

The Home landing page Overview (in the Home submenu)

Additionally, the workspace menu can now be found at the bottom of the main menu, while global search, global create, and notifications now live in the new Global header.

What's new in the navigation

Several sections are new with Spark. Here's what they do.

  • Agent: Spark's permanent home in the navigation. Start a new chat, browse skills, manage scheduled tasks, and access Agent Knowledge from here.
  • Library: A single, filterable view of all your Productboard data: feedback, initiatives, features, objectives, customers, and more. Use the My / My Team / All toggle to scope what you see.
  • Feedback, Initiatives, and Features boards: These boards appear automatically in the Home submenu on first login. They're pre-filtered to your role and fully customizable.
  • Recents: Surfaces the boards, chats, and entities you've visited recently so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Organization: The renamed All Company / General teamspace, now promoted to a dedicated section. It's the shared space for company-wide strategy, roadmaps, and recent releases.

What's been renamed

A few key surfaces and entities have been renamed:

Old name New name
Notes Feedback
Home page (the landing view) Overview
All Company / General (teamspace) Organization
Company Knowledge Agent Knowledge

Main navigation area

The Main navigation area lives on the left side of the screen. Virtually everything you do while navigating between the different boards and pages of Productboard happens from here.

Within Main navigation is the Main menu, which is made up of main menu items. Later in this article you will find information about the contents of each main menu item.

When you open a main menu item, the submenu changes to display related submenu items. For example, in the above image, Overview is a submenu item within the Home submenu.

Along the top of the screen is the Global header, which isn't part of the Main navigation UI panel but does contain some important navigation buttons. You'll find a list of those items later in this article.

Main menu item list

Below you'll find information about each item on the Main menu.

Home

The Home submenu is your daily starting point in Productboard. It gives you quick access to your personal work, your team's shared space, and the boards you use most.

Home submenu items
  • Overview: Your personal homepage and the primary entry point to Productboard Spark. It surfaces the skills available to you and highlights the top opportunities to act on. This area grows over time, surfacing more ways to return to active work.
  • Feedback, Initiatives, and Features boards: These three boards appear automatically when you first log in to a Spark-enabled workspace. Each board arrives pre-filtered to your role. You can adjust filters, change the layout, and use the Save as new button in the top right to spin off different versions of these boards.
  • Recents: Surfaces the boards, chats, and entities you've visited recently so you can pick up where you left off. Expand the section in the sidebar to see recent items inline. Click View more to open the full Recents page.
  • Favorites: Add any board or document to your Favorites list from its ••• More actions menu, or by clicking the star icon in the item's header. Favorites are personal and persist across sessions.
  • Organization: The shared space for company-wide content, including strategy documents, roadmaps, and recent releases. Organization is available in every workspace, and every user is automatically invited. Previously called the All Company or General teamspace. Admins manage what appears here. Makers and contributors have read-only access.
  • My Teamspaces: Use teamspaces to organize your workspace's boards by team, department, or focus area. Hover over the submenu item to reveal quick actions for browsing all teamspaces or creating a new one. You can also create teamspaces from the All teamspaces page.
  • Personal: Boards in your Personal space are private. Only you can see them.* Use this space to plan and experiment before sharing work with others. You can move boards between Personal and any teamspace you've joined.

    * Note: You can share individual boards in your Personal space with specific individuals. Also, admins can view boards in your Personal space, but only through Search. Nobody except you can browse your Personal folder structure.

Agent

The Agent submenu is Spark's permanent home in the navigation. All Spark capabilities are accessible from here. Hovering over Agent in the main menu shows a preview of the section's contents without redirecting you.

Agent submenu items
  • New Chat: Opens a blank Spark conversation.
  • Skills: Browse and run pre-built Spark skills. Skills are available to admins, makers, and contributors.
  • Scheduled: Create and manage scheduled tasks that run a Spark prompt on a recurring basis. This feature is available to makers and admins only. Contributors do not have access.
  • Agent Knowledge: The structured context that Spark draws on when answering questions and completing tasks. Previously called Company Knowledge. Add content to Agent Knowledge from any board or document using its ••• More actions menu.
  • Recent Chats: Shows your 10 most recent Spark conversations. Click Show more to open the full chat history.

Library

Library is a single, filterable view of all your boards, feedback, products, and customer data. It's primarily organized by entity type.

Use the My / My Team / All quick filters on any Library board to scope what you see. Admins can adjust columns, groupings, and filters. The entity set shown in each board is fixed by design, ensuring Library always surfaces what it's meant to.

Library submenu items
  • Boards: Quick access to all boards and documents across the workspace that you have the right permissions for.
  • Insights: Opportunities, Findings, Themes, and Feedback boards live in this section. Accessing Feedback from here shows you all feedback (as opposed to accessing it from Home, which shows you feedback owned by you.
  • Product: Initiatives, Features, Products, Objectives, and Releases boards. These special grids help you track and manage your entities.
  • Customers: Companies and Users boards. Use these to dig into the needs of specific customers, including how many notes are associated with them and which features they've shown interest in.

Portals

Portals are flexible, interactive interfaces you can share with colleagues or customers to validate ideas and keep stakeholders informed. All ideas and feedback submitted through a portal route back to your feedback boards for analysis alongside other inputs.

Settings

In the Settings submenu, you'll find everything you need to set up integrations, configure access, and generally manage your workspace.

Settings submenu sections
  • My account: Edit your account details and notification preferences.
  • Workspace Administration: View and edit miscellaneous workspace-wide settings, activate experimental features through Labs, and view your workspace's billing information, terms, and policies.
  • Operations: Various product ops tools can be found here, including automations, reports, forms, and integrations.
  • Security and Permissions: Role management, workspace membership control, and SSO/SCIM/MFA settings.
  • Data Management: View and (possibly) edit data about the entities in your workspace, including custom fields and entity customization settings.

Workspace menu

The Workspace menu allows you to switch between different workspaces, if your plan allows it. You'll also find shortcuts here for inviting new members to your workspace and accessing your account details.

Global header item list

The Global header is a new UI panel that is always visible along the top edge of the screen. It has a few important elements:

Search

Find and access any entity in your workspace using the Search button, as long as you have permission to do so. See Access control guide for details on how permissions work.

Tip: You can wrap your search terms in "double quotes" to search for exact phrases instead of individual keywords.

Create

This button allows you to create a new board or item of any type.

Boards created in this way are placed in your Personal section, meaning they won't be visible to others until you move them into a teamspace. You can manage teamspaces and your Personal section from Home. See Fundamentals of Productboard for details about creating boards.

You can also use this button to create items like feedback, features, or releases. Depending on which entity type you select, you may have to specify the parent or location of the new entity. See Create new items quickly for details.

Notifications

Notifications help you keep on top of your work. You'll receive notifications when someone @-mentions you in a document or comment, or when certain types of changes happen to entities you follow.
