What installing Productboard as an app means
Productboard is a progressive web app (PWA), a website that behaves like a native app once you install it. Installing it adds Productboard to your dock, taskbar, or home screen, opens it in its own window without browser tabs or address bars, and lets you switch to it the same way you would any other app.
This makes Productboard simpler to access and use like a normal app on both desktop and mobile, and easier to keep handy across your devices.
Note: Installing Productboard as an app doesn't change your data, permissions, or how you sign in. It's the same Productboard, just in its own window.
Installing Productboard on desktop
You can install Productboard as a desktop app from any supported browser. The exact steps vary slightly by browser, but the option is typically in the browser's menu or address bar.
- Open Productboard in your browser.
- Look for an install icon in the address bar, or open your browser's menu and find an option like Install Productboard or Install app.
- Confirm the installation. Productboard now opens in its own window and appears in your dock or taskbar.
Installing Productboard on mobile

Limitations
Because Productboard is a PWA rather than a native app, a few things work differently than they would with an app downloaded from an app store.
- PWAs don't appear in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You install Productboard directly from your browser instead of downloading it from a store.
