You can create new items from the main menu without having to open a specific page. Doing so significantly reduces the amount of clicking and thinking you have to do to create something like a new note, feature, or release.
The global create button
To create a new item from anywhere:
- At the top of the main menu, click Create.
- Select or type the name of the item you wish to create. (You can also create new boards this way!) Alternatively, click Import in the footer to import Companies, Notes, or Features.
- Give your new item a name.
- (Optional) If your new item requires a parent or location, specify it. For example, if you're creating a component, you must specify the parent product under which your new component will live.
- Click Create [item].
- A sidebar will appear with the details of you new item, and you can begin filling it out immediately.
Note: The sidebar will appear on top of your current page, meaning you won't have to navigate back to whatever you were doing once you're done configuring your new item. Just close the sidebar!
