Archive and unarchive items

Archiving an item is useful when you want to remove it from sight without deleting it entirely, in case you want to revisit it at a later stage. Archived items are hidden from view unless revealed by board controls.

What can be archived?

You can archive components, features, subfeatures, objectives, key results, initiatives, release groups, releases, and notes.

Products cannot be archived.

Archiving items

To archive an item: 

  1. Click the item to open the details sidebar.
  2. Click ••• More actions > Archive.

Tip: You can select multiple items on a grid or insights board and archive them all at once. 

Note: Archiving an item will also archive all its subordinate items. If you archive a component, its child features will be archived as well. 

Viewing archived items

To reveal archived items:

  1. On a grid, timeline, or columns board, click Board controls.
  2. Under Items, click Include archived items.
  3. (Optional) Select Show both archived and not archived items to see everything; otherwise, you will only see archived items. 
  4. Click Apply.

Viewing archived notes

The process for revealing archived notes is different from that of other item types.

To reveal archived notes:

  1. On any insights board, click Filtered by.
  2. Select Status > Archived.

Unarchiving items

You can unarchive items like so:

  1. Click an archived item to open its details sidebar.
  2. At the top of the sidebar, click ••• More actions > Unarchive.
