TLDR: Productboard Pulse has everything Productboard AI has, plus additional insights-related functionality.

Context
Productboard AI was our first foray into natural language processing and assistance. It was designed to help people make connections between the feedback they were collecting and the features they were building. It was good at that! But we decided to push the envelope and see how much better we could make it.
The result is Productboard Pulse: an AI-powered tool that stands on the shoulders of Productboard AI and reaches even further into the problem space to shed light on what people are saying about your work.
Even more interesting is that, unlike Productboard AI, Productboard Pulse can be used without having to purchase Productboard itself. This standalone package allows you to make use of two pillars of the core Productboard platform: insights boards for feedback collection and analysis and documents for strategic planning.
Direct comparison
Here's a comparison between the capabilities of both offerings, not including elements of the core Productboard platform:
Capability | Productboard Pulse | Productboard AI |
AI-generated feature specs | ✅ | ✅ |
AI summaries of feedback notes | ✅ | ✅ |
AI summaries of trending topics | ✅ | ✅ |
AI search for relevant insights | * ✅ | ✅ |
Insights auto-linking | * ✅ | ✅ |
Topic groups | ✅ | ❌ |
Enhanced topic visualization | ✅ | ❌ |
Conversational AI for feedback analysis | ✅ | ❌ |
Generate and collaborate on insights reports | ✅ | ❌ |
Can be used without buying Productboard | ✅ | ❌ |
* Note: Two capabilities—AI search for relevant insights and insights auto-linking—require a product hierarchy to function. Since product hierarchies are part of the core Productboard platform, the standalone version of Productboard Pulse can't make use of these capabilities.
