Feedback flowing into Productboard often skews negative — customer pain points, product shortcomings, and feature requests. That means it's easy to miss what customers genuinely love about your product.
Capturing and sharing positive feedback helps you celebrate successes, identify your product's value propositions in customers' own words, and find potential advocates for beta programs or customer advisory boards.
Productboard's sentiment analysis makes it easier than ever to surface and share this customer love with your team.
Important: Sentiment analysis supports all major languages. Productboard uses a multilingual model pre-trained on 104 languages, with particularly strong performance in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Three reasons to collect positive feedback
- Celebrate success and boost motivation in your team.
- Identify your product's value propositions in customers' own words.
- Find product advocates who might provide a testimonial, join a beta program, or participate in your customer advisory board.
Using sentiment to navigate to customer compliments
When feedback is imported or created in Productboard, our machine-learning model analyses the text and detects whether it contains positive, negative, or neutral sentiment. You can see the detected sentiment as a note attribute in the note detail view.
Filtering collected feedback by sentiment
Use the sentiment filter to quickly navigate to the type of feedback you want to review. You can combine it with other filters — for example, to zoom into positive feedback from a specific topic or segment collected in the last 90 days.
To filter by sentiment:
- On any insights board, click Filtered by.
- Click Sentiment and select Positive, Negative, or Neutral.
Saving a board with sentiment filters
Once you've configured an insights board with the filters you need, save it to your favorites to return to it any time with one click. For more information, see Use insights boards to group related notes.
Helping us improve sentiment detection
If a note has the wrong sentiment label, you can override it directly. This helps us train the model and improve results over time.
