Create different views for each stage of your workflow

One common mistake that new Productboard users make is to try to do everything on the same screen.

In this article, you'll find examples of views you can create for each stage in your workflow, so you don't get overwhelmed.

This article shows the following view examples: 

Backlog

The Backlog view helps product managers to keep tabs on their ideas, and see whether customers are requesting anything specific.

To set up this view follow the steps below:

Board Organization 

For the Backlog view, set the board organization view to By HierarchyHierarchy.svg

Evaluate

With the Evaluate view, you'll use this view to narrow down your list by doing a quick value/effort tradeoff analysis.

To set up this view follow the steps below:

Board Organization 

For the Evaluate view, set the board organization view to Sorted list sortedlist.svg

 Once you've found a feature idea that seems like it has potential, click the status and change it to Candidate.

Prioritize

With this view, you'll dig deeper to narrow down your list even further.

To set up this view follow the steps below:

Board Organization 

For the Prioritize view, set the board organization view to Sorted list sortedlist.svg

Once you've identified the features you know you want to work on, click the feature status and set it to Planned.

Release Planning

On this view, you can assign features to releases or a timeframe.

For the Release planning view, set the board organization view to By Release release.svg then choose how you want to display releases, in this example we selected Quarters.

Release Management

Plan your releases and understand if there are any pre or post-development activities that need to be completed.

Status View

Understand where each feature is at throughout its lifecycle.

Help go-to-market teams understand which features are gearing up to be launched and what tasks need to be done prior to release.

This view helps product teams view what the engineering teams are currently working on and check on the development progress.
