Disable Legacy board access

Eventually, the Legacy experience will be deprecated and you'll no longer be able to access Legacy boards (features boards and Legacy roadmaps).

If you're ready for that day to come early, or if you're not sure and want to test your readiness, you can block the ability to create or access Legacy boards across your workspace.

Disabling the Legacy board access and creation options

The options for disabling the creation and access of Legacy boards can be found in Settings.

Note: You must be an admin to change Legacy access settings.

1. From the bottom of the Main menu, click Settings.
2. Find the section called Access to Legacy boards. Here you'll see two options:
   • Block access to Legacy boards.
   • Block creation of Legacy boards.
3. Use the dropdown menus beside each option to disable or enable them independently. 
   
   

When Legacy board access is disabled

When you disable Legacy board access, the following changes will take place:

• All Legacy boards in the workspace will be hidden. Nobody can see or open them, not even admins. 
• Direct links to Legacy boards will no longer function.

When Legacy board creation is disabled

When you disable Legacy board creation, the following changes will take place:

• The Features board or Roadmap options on any board creation menus, including within Personal sections, will be hidden.
• The Duplicate option on any Legacy board will be hidden.
• The Save as new option on any Legacy board will be hidden.

FAQ

Can admins still see Legacy boards after disabling access?

No. Once Legacy board access is disabled, nobody (not even the admin who disabled the access) will be able to see Legacy boards. The only way for any member of your workspace to see Legacy boards is to re-enable Legacy board access. 

Will my workspace lose any boards or data if I disable Legacy board access?

No. Legacy boards will still be saved on our end and not deleted, even when access is blocked. Your boards will be hidden, but not touched, and will remain so until the Legacy experience deprecation date. In the meantime, you can disable and enable Legacy access at will with no data loss.
